This is an update on the zucchini plants.
The zucchini plants are on their fifth or sixth week, and they are thriving. There were some issues with aphids and possible fungus contagion, but Snow corrected the problem by applying a chili pepper/garlic/neem oil concoction to the plants. The aphids have been snuffed out.
Buds of the zucchini flower (fiori di zucca) line the stems. When they blossom shortly, we'll throw a little bbq. Zucchini flowers are delicious beer battered, fried and lighlty salted. I cannot wait for them to blossom. Snow also planted cherry tomoatoes and lettuce, which are doing well. And the salad sprouts he salvaged are looking healthier.
On a side note, Snow says his concoction would go well with pastas and pizza.
Gardeners tip for the day: if you gently brush and ruffle the leaves of plants, it stimulates hormes which in turn stimulates stem growth.
